Meet the team
Charles Leclerc
Charles Leclerc was born on the 16th October 1997, he began racing karts at the age of five. By 2013, Charles had already won the CIK-FIA KF3 World Cup and the CIK-FIA Academy Trophy, he was the WSK Champion and finished runner-up in the European and Under 18 class. In 2015, Charles was the best rookie in Formula 3 finishing fourth in the championship, becoming a member of the Ferrari Driver Academy the following year. In 2017, Leclerc won the Formula 2 Championship at his first attempt. This success led him to Formula 1 making his debut with the Alfa Romeo Sauber team in 2018. Since joining Scuderia Ferrari in the 2019 season, Charles has secured 2 race wins, 9 pole positions and 13 total podiums. He looks to add to this tally in the 2022 season alongside Carlos Sainz Jr.
Carlos Sainz Jr.
Carlos Sainz Jr., nicknamed the Chilli, was born on the 1st September 1994, taking his first steps in karting and has had to prove himself in every step of the way towards Formula 1. By 2009, he won the Asia-Pacific KF3 title, the Junior Monaco Kart Cup and was runner-up in the European KF3 Championship. During the 2012 season, Carlos raced in both British and Euro Series Formula 3 championships, winning 4 races and finishing 9 times on the podium to secure 6th overall in the standings. After 6 seasons driving in Formula 1, Carlos joined Scuderia Ferrari in the 2021 season to partner Charles Leclerc. He achieved a total of the 5 podiums in his first season with the team, displaying his intelligence as well as his instinctiveness at the highest level in motor racing.
